Yiran Zhang

I am Yiran Zhang (张贻然), a senior undergraduate student at Tsinghua University.
My current research interests lie in optimization and deep learning, and I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Simon Shaolei Du and Prof. Kaifeng Lyu.
Earlier in my undergraduate journey, I also worked extensively in theoretical computer science, where I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Jian Li and Prof. Nicole Wein.
My long-term goal is to develop theoretical principles that help explain the success of deep learning and use these insights to guide the design of scalable and more powerful learning systems.
